First Steps After Install
- Launch the game and complete the Prologue as the Harbinger.
- Reach Dark Morrow, the hub area, to meet the shellkeeper Zhirelle.
- Pick up your first permanent Shell and experiment with its skill tree.
- Cleanse the first beacon to unlock fast travel and dungeon access.
- Visit the settings menu to enable DLSS/FSR and adjust Global Illumination for your hardware.
Open Beta Status
The Mortal Shell 2 Open Beta ran on Steam starting June 6, 2026, and on Xbox around July 31, 2026. The beta window has now closed ahead of the full launch. If you missed it, the only way to play is to purchase the full game through the official store links above.
